We will discuss tools and other ways you can prepare the wood for printing. Our second class will discuss papers, making Nori (or purchasing it), how to prime the plate for printing, what a damp pack is, what types of ink are used and how to print your blocks by hand with a barren. All students will be provided with a shina plywood block, tools to use, and the Nori and ink to print with, and some different types of paper to print on.
