In this workshop, students will learn to make a personalized, multiple-signature book that opens flat and has an exposed spine and hard covers. This traditional binding technique allows students to customize their book’s overall dimensions, cover design, as well as the number and type of papers inside. Students will start with small practice books, then will design and create their own perfect sketchbook or journal. Everyone will leave with 2-3 blank books and a personal bookbinding toolkit for continued exploration!

A range of blank and decorative papers will be available to choose from, and students are also encouraged to bring any special papers they’d like to use.
