SUMMARY:Sofreh سفره Torshi Supper Club + Husmus Studio Dec 6th FIRST FRIDAY 7-9pm
DESCRIPTION:Sofreh سفره\n7-9pm\nDecember 6th\n\n\n\n\nSofreh سفره \nTorshi Supper Club and Husmus Studio are presenting a collaborative installation at Relay Ridge for December’s First Friday opening. They will also be sharing a food table for you to taste and experience their food with them. The installation is free for all to enjoy as a piece of the larger show. The food table will be priced per plate (sliding scale of $10-15). \n\n\n\n“Pickleball is centered on the idea of “home” and how we relate to it\, whether it’s through food\, art\, community\, a physical space\, people\, or otherwise. For us (Susie and Sarah)\, it has been sharing food with each other\, inviting friends into our homes\, and sharing in the art that comes from our cultures and ancestors.  There is much more to share on how this show came to be and what it means to us.”\n-Sarah Musgrave

SUMMARY:FIRST FRIDAY December 6th PICKLEBALL opening reception - curated by Gina Stucchio
DESCRIPTION:Opening Gallery Reception + Open RR Artists Studios + RR Printshop happenings! \nFIRST FRIDAY  December 6th  6-9pm \nOlivia Tawzer “Sideline Braid” acrylic on canvas\, 40 x 40 inches\, 2023\nJoin us for the opening reception of Pickleball a curated exhibition by Gina Stucchio. \nIt’s hard to feel like things aren’t just shit these days. \nHowever\, in my overwhelming moments of despair and grief I have felt bonded with my friends and surrounding community in ways I never have before. It’s hard to understand when it’s okay to feel happy or to celebrate anything when so much going on around us feels like it’s more important. \nRecently I’ve thought a lot about what ‘home’ is and what it means to me. It took some time\, but I’ve realized that home is where I feel comfortable and safe\, coming together with friends to play sports\, observing the beautiful moments that seem far too fleeting these days\, and sharing a meal made with love with people I love. We’re not biological\, but siblings at heart. New family. We’ve formed a bond over the lacking. When curating this show I brought together a group of artists from different areas of my life who have a common thread that addresses how the idea of ‘home’ includes community and love and being with each other. \n-Gina Stucchio \nExhibiting artists in this Pickleball include Andres Ramirez\, Gina Stucchio\, Olivia Tawzer\, Sarah Musgrave\, and Susie Zadeh.
