In this class students will learn the art and skill of relief printing on a larger scale and will be work on 20″ x 28″ blocks. Participants will learn the entire printing process from idea to edition. This class is meant to help people become more comfortable with making larger relief prints. Students will learn to draw an image, carve it into a woodblock, and will learn to print both with a press and by hand. By the end of the final class, students will be taking an edition of 5, 22”x30” prints home with them.

All skill levels welcomed. Must be 18+


About the Instructor:

John Caleb Lee Houston is a printmaker and storyteller born and raised in Cosby, Tennessee. Graduated from undergraduate at University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, he’s working to combine printmaking, sculpture, and storytelling to create monumental works that threaten to devour you whole.
