HOW CAN I BECOME A PRINTSHOP MEMBER?

If you’re interested in becoming a member, please fill out the membership application in the link below!

At this time, all printshop members must have prior experience in printmaking. We will ask to see samples of your work, conduct an orientation, and sign appropriate legal documents before keycard access is granted.

For those interested in printmaking & using the printshop but do not have prior experience, we offer introduction printmaking workshops to the community. We can offer key-card membership after completion of a couple classes on case-by-case basis. Our goal is to have both Relay Ridge and the user to feel confident and safe using the printshop independently.

Check out currently offered classes here: https://relayridge.org/workshops/

Strength and Support within the Knoxville Community.

At Relay Ridge Printshop, not only will you find a wonderful space to be a printmaker and meet other local artists working with prints, you will find unique oddities and historic items within this printshop. Nearly every item in this shop* was gifted, traded, built, refurbished, bargained, salvaged, repurposed, or custom-built by Andrew Messersmith. This printshop quietly holds a history of Knoxville’s printmaking community and the city’s generosity and support for artist spaces. In addition to Ashton Ludden collecting and hoarding print equipment for years before being able to expand, many of these items came from local printshops, artists, businesses, and educational spaces.

*with the exception of our brand new washout booth, which was purchased through the generosity of the Ann & Steve Bailey Opportunity Grant.
